Visit to the bike shop

On my way back home, I called into The Bicycle Chain in Bridgwater and looked @ the Dawes Galaxy 2012 model.
Well I had to take her for a spin on their test track and OMG what a ride, and I knew I had to buy her.
As I am getting  it on the cycle saver scheme through work all the paper work had to be filled in.
So as spring is here, followed hopefully a good summer and weekends away  and even a weeks tour is on the cards

65 miles

I had an amazing ride to day and bagged 65.65 and started in Glastonbury, Meare, Shapwick heath, Shapwick, Catcott over the Levels, Brent Knoll, Breen Berrow, Burnham on sea, High bridge Bridgwater, Bawdrip, Cossington, Chilton Polden, Edington, Catcott, Shapwick, Ashcott, Sharpham and home to Glastonbury.
Lovely sunshine but coming home started to become very  windy

Dawes Galaxy update

Since I made my last post, things have changed, I received an email from the bike shop I was looking @ the Dawes Galaxy.

They are prepared to sell me the 2012 Galaxy for a £1000 to bring it  into line with the cycle saver scheme from work result £200 of the price.

I am off to look @ the bike tomorrow and see if it suits me  

Dawes Galaxy

Yesterday I went out for a spin and I went to look @  my LBS and I am interested in another touring bike.
I looked @ the Dawes Nomad the one they had in stock was 2012 model and was too small for me.
The guy told me that the 2013 touring range had changed and the Vantage, Nomad and the Horizon are no longer available but they have increased the Galaxy range.
The one I am interested in is the Galaxy Plus, the Galaxy Plus has disc brakes.
This is not available till 2nd  of April, so when it is in stock I will be going to have a look.
In the mean time I will continue to use the Karakum.
